i came across this quote somewhere and it reminded me of one of my favorite college roommates because she used to say the same thing. I guess i wanted to post it today because for an afternoon snack i've had a spoonful of peanut butter with chocolate chips on it. So, i guess in other words i had my veggies and protein for the day! YAY!

"During my boyhood, we interacted with members of our extended family daily and shared moments of working, playing, and visiting together. We could not get in a great deal of mischief without a report reaching our mothers very rapidly. Our world is different now—the members of most families spread out. Even if they live relatively close to each other, they do not often live next door. Still, I have to believe that my boyhood and my current situation are a little like heaven, with beloved family members living close to each other. It serves as a constant reminder to me of the eternal nature of the family unit."

i loved Elder Perry's talk, and how he so often talks about his family. I too feel like living close to family is a taste of heaven.  It reminds me of one of my favorite scriptures..."And that same sociality which exists among us here will exist among us there, only it will be coupled with eternal glory, which glory we do not now enjoy." D&C 130:2

Death is no more than passing from one room into another. But there's a difference for me, you know. Because in that other room I shall be able to see.

We had to say goodbye to Lanning's Grandma last week. She is one of the most kind, good-hearted, pleasant woman i've ever been around. Her love and light will be missed. We are so glad we could live near  her for the short time that we did. We feel blessed to have felt her love and been inspired by her goodness. There is surely a happy reunion in heaven this week.
